UK National Curriculum · Years 1–9

Understand how your child is really learning.

Decifer gives parents a clear learning map of their child's school year — showing what they need to learn, what they are doing well, where they need support, and what to do next.

Not a school replacement. Not just another quiz app. Decifer helps parents make sense of their child's learning.

Example preview. Real data shown once your child is active.

Most tools give your child something to do. Very few help parents understand what is happening.

A score tells you what happened. A learning map tells you why — and what to do next.

You can see a score. Not what it cost.

An 80% after three hints is very different from an 80% on the first try. Decifer shows both.

You can see time spent. Not effort.

Ten minutes rushing through is different from ten minutes working carefully. The learning map reflects that difference.

You know they finished. Not what was hard.

Topic completed tells you nothing about where they hesitated, guessed, or needed support. Decifer surfaces those moments.

You see the result. Not the pattern.

A single score is a snapshot. Patterns across weeks show whether things are improving, staying steady, or needing a closer look.

Learning intelligence

Patterns based on what your child actually does.

Decifer looks at quiz answers, lesson behaviour, and topic progress to surface patterns a score alone cannot show. Every insight shows the evidence behind it.

Progress by subject

See which topics your child has started, completed, and revisited — across Maths, English, and Science. Based on their actual topic progress and quiz attempts.

Example: "Completed 6 of 14 Maths topics. Last active 2 days ago."

What is going well

Topics where your child scored well and completed more than once show up here — with the score and how many times they have revisited.

Example: "Completed with 85% on the last attempt. Reviewed twice."

Where more practice would help

Topics with lower accuracy across multiple attempts, or where hints were used frequently, are highlighted with the evidence behind them.

Example: "Lower accuracy across 12 answers. Hints used in 7 of those."

Patterns are based on your child's activity in Decifer and may suggest a direction — they do not diagnose or predict. Every insight shows how many data points it is based on.

The learning loop

From first explanation to real confidence.

Every topic follows the same clear path. Every step has a purpose.

1

Learn

Clear explanations and worked examples at the right level. No pressure, no time limit.

Step 1 of 4
2

Practise

Guided exercises with up to three hint levels and instant feedback. Retries are never penalised.

Step 2 of 4
3

Quiz

Ten questions across three difficulty tiers. Instant feedback. Every mistake is explained, not just marked wrong.

Step 3 of 4
4

Progress

Scores, XP, streaks, and topic completion tracked automatically. Parents see results the same day.

Step 4 of 4

“I tried. I improved. I can see progress. I want to continue.”

That loop is what DECIFER Learning is built to create — and what parents can see in the learning map.

Content quality

Quality checked. Before your child sees it.

Every question and lesson passes a six-stage process before it is published. Content that does not meet the threshold is blocked — not published.

1

Curriculum sourced

Every question begins from approved National Curriculum material. No outside sources.

RAG retrieval

2

Verified by code

Maths and science answers are checked by a code verifier — SymPy, Pint, or ChemPy. Not by AI.

Code verification

3

Independently re-checked

A second AI pass at zero temperature independently confirms correctness and clarity.

Consensus check

4

Reviewed for clarity

Checked against a written standard: age-appropriateness, hint progression, tier alignment.

Constitutional critique

5

Uniqueness confirmed

Compared semantically against every published question. Similar questions are blocked.

Deduplication

6

Published or blocked

A confidence score is calculated. Content that does not meet the threshold is not published. No exceptions.

Confidence gate

The learning map shows what your child has covered, what is going well, where more practice would help, and what to do next — all based on their actual activity in Decifer.

  • The learning map

A clear view of what your child has covered, what is going well, and where more practice would help — based on their actual activity.

  • Learning patterns over time

Patterns based on quiz answers, lesson behaviour, and topic progress. Each pattern shows the evidence it is based on.
